News from Corscience at MEDICA 2023

Trade fair visitors from the medical device industry can look forward to our development service for “the world’s smallest AED”, exciting products and innovative technological concepts in the field of defibrillation and monitoring, and the new Consulting business unit.

For this year’s MEDICA in Düsseldorf, 13–16 November, Corscience has once again put together interesting insights and advancements. At Booth D62 in Hall 9, the Erlangen-based company will be presenting not only their development services and products in the field of defibrillation, but also its new Consulting business unit.

The world’s smallest AED. We’re part of it.

As a milestone in medical technology, “the world’s smallest AED” has already attracted a lot of attention, even before MEDICA. The development service for OOONO Medical, the Danish medical start-up, incorporates the collective expertise of the Corscience company. Joule® – the size of a lunchbox and the price of a smartphone – will be the world’s smallest automated external defibrillator. Representatives from the project team will be at the trade fair from November 13 to 16 and will be available for discussions with MEDICA visitors.

As an experienced development service provider, Corscience consistently focuses on the development of new approaches in defibrillation technology. At MEDICA, the staff will present new ideas that drive miniaturization and significantly reduce the cost of developing and maintaining AEDs.

New Consulting business unit

For over 20 years, Corscience has been a development service provider and manufacturer of complex and safety-critical medical devices. “We’re experts in both theory and practice. Our goal now is to systematically share this experience and know-how and help companies bring products to market faster” says CEO Dr. Jörg Pintaske, speaking about the decision to concentrate consulting expertise in a new business unit. As a defibrillation and development specialist, Corscience can provide valuable advice in all phases, from concept and development through to approval and life cycle management. In addition, Corscience advises on issues relating to quality management, regulatory affairs and MDR transition of all medical devices.

CPR feedback sensor Push for easy integration

At the Corscience trade fair stand, medical device manufacturers will also be able to see a new module that provides a valuable addition to lifesaving systems, thereby increasing the chances of surviving a cardiovascular arrest. Push is a CPR feedback sensor that is easily integrated into existing defibrillation or monitoring systems, thanks to standardized interfaces and protocols plus customizable connection options.

Powerful defibrillation module with pacing function

Corscience will also showcase its key electronic module for high-performance defibrillators, Shock360. This new defibrillation module delivers fast charging and a shock energy of up to 360 joules. It can be easily expanded to include a pacing function for manual control of current intensity and frequency. This means that Shock360 can also be used for the stimulation of bradyarrhythmias.
