The development of life-supporting systems at Corscience

Life-Supporting-Systems

20 years of experience and innovation

For more than 20 years now, we’ve stood for high-quality medical devices that help people, heal the sick and save lives. Technologies developed by Corscience can also be found in many life-supporting systems – from electrostimulation to ventilation to components for heart support systems.

This success story began with the development of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for amateur resuscitation. Numerous other defibrillators followed, which are used as professional devices in hospitals and by rescue services or as AEDs by amateurs. Furthermore, Corscience developed medical devices for artificial respiration in rescue services, where a tube is inserted into the windpipe via a so-called tube and the patient is mechanically supplied with air.

When it comes to projects for cardiac or cardiopulmonary support (ECLS, ECMO, VAD, TAH), we contributed our expertise in mechanical circulatory support. The focus of our development work was on the extracorporeal control unit and implementing algorithms for device control. We’ve also been happy to provide significant support to companies specialising in pacemaker therapy in the development of external pacemakers. The pacemaker is attached to the atrium and/or the ventricle via cardiac wires in order to deliver impulses to the myocardium.

The development of medical devices and systems for life-supporting and life-saving applications requires particularly high level of reliability and fail-safe operation. Thanks to our many years of experience, we fulfil customer orders in this environment efficiently and in a way that’s always focused on success. Every life that we improve or even save thanks to our technological expertise confirms our work. We’d also be delighted to have the opportunity to support you in the development and approval of your medical product.
